Biography
Emese M. Bordy received her PhD in Geology from Rhodes University, South Africa, after an MSc from Eötvös University, Hungary. She was a postdoctoral researcher in the Evolutionary Science Institute, WITS (2002-2003), following which she lectured geology at Rhodes University (2004-2011). Her research focuses on the quantification of the climatic and tectonic signatures in sedimentary, biogeographic and palaeo-ecological processes, especially in the Palaeozoic and Mesozoic of southern Africa. In the past 15 years, Emese successfully supervised >50 postgraduate students (including PhDs and postdocs) and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of geoscientists.
