25 October 2022

Overview:
The TEDxJohannesburgSalon event is taking place on Thursday, 27 October. The theme is
LIFE: Past. Present. Future, with a focus on the world of Palaeosciences, the world of fossils and
what they can teach us about our future.

As part of the build-up to the TEDxJohannesburg event, we are hosting a viewing of David Attenborough’s film ‘Life on our Planet’ which fits in perfectly with the overarching message that we are a part of nature and not apart from it and how we need to take action to preserve our planet and all of nature.

Film Overview:

In his 93 years, David Attenborough has visited every continent on the globe, exploring the wild
places of our planet and documenting the living world in all its variety and wonder. Now, for the
first time, he reflects upon the defining moments of his life as a naturalist and the
devastating changes he has seen. Produced by WWF and award-winning wildlife film-makers
Silverback Films, David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet, is a first-hand account of
humanity’s impact on nature and a message of hope for future generations.

We will be screening the film in partnership with our TEDxJohannesburgSalon partner GENUS
and WWF (and possibly Netflix – awaiting response).
