Professor Jennifer Botha, one of the very few palaeohistologists from South Africa, attended the International Symposium on Palaeohistology, which was held in Brisbane Australia in June 2025. She present new and exciting results on the growth strategies of sauropodomorphs across the end-Triassic mass extinction. An interesting result involves the observation that all sauropodomorphs and sauropodiforms exhibit cyclical growth marks from early in ontogeny, contrary to Sauropoda, which only show growth marks late in ontogeny.
